Kansas National Guard to dedicate museum wing to 35th Infantry Division

? History buffs are being invited to enjoy a piece of the past and fresh pancakes to mark the opening of new facilities to honor the Kansas National Guard.

A new wing at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard at Forbes Field is dedicated to the 35th Infantry Division. The wing includes displays of the division’s history, an education center and research library.

Events are scheduled Saturday at the museum south of Topeka.

The 35th Infantry Division is based at Fort Leavenworth. It earned three battle streamers during World War I and five during World War II. Recently, the division saw duty in Bosnia and Kosovo.
