Linwood Community Library preparing for move to new, larger building

The Linwood Community Library soon will move into new digs.

Library director Sue Peavy said Wednesday would be the final day that the library will operate in downtown Linwood. It will close at 7:30 p.m. and library director Sue Peavy said she hopes it will reopen Oct. 18 in new, larger quarters at 19649 Linwood Road.

During the transition, the library will open for regular programs, such as storytime, but the library itself will not be open.

An open house — in what formerly was the New Linwood Cafe — is tentatively set for 2 p.m. Oct. 17.

Library staff can be reached during the transition at 913-301-3686.
