Dedication ceremony scheduled for Oct. 16 for Burroughs Creek Trail
Lawrence’s newest park and trail soon will be officially dedicated.
The city will host a ceremony at 11 a.m. Oct. 16 for the new Burroughs Creek Trail and Linear Park. The event will be at Parnell Park, 901 E. 15th St., which is adjacent to the trail.
The trail runs along a former rail corridor west of Haskell Avenue between 11th and 23rd streets. The trail was funded from proceeds of the sales tax approved by voters in November 2008 and by a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St.
