Kansas University softball signee Lexi Bryant was recently named an ESPN RISE High School All-American.

The Orland Park, Ill. native, who will start her Jayhawk career in the 2011-12 academic year, led Carl Sandburg High to its first softball state championship in 2010 with a .504 batting average, 15 home runs and 46 RBI, all school records.

A 5-foot-6 catcher, Bryant was chosen as the Illinois Athlete of the Year as a senior and was a part of the Eagles’ conference championship teams in 2008 and 2009.
