Wichita ? A federal judge has ordered the forfeiture of more than $1.27 million in addition to other assets in the case of a Kansas doctor and his wife whose clinic is linked to 68 deaths.

The decision handed down Monday by U.S. District Judge Monti Belot comes in the case of Dr. Stephen Schneider and his wife, Linda.

They were convicted of a moneymaking scheme linked to 68 overdose deaths. A jury also found them guilty of unlawfully prescribing drugs, health care fraud and money laundering. Schneider was sentenced last month to 30 years in prison; his wife received 33 years.

The preliminary forfeiture order includes the clinic, a vehicle, the doctor’s medical license and eight bank accounts.
