Wichita mom pleads in death of infant son

? The mother of a 7-month-old child who died last March has entered a plea in the boy’s death, but the question of who caused the child’s injuries has not yet been answered.

Twenty-year-old Courtney McGee of Goddard pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated endangering of her son, Gerald. An autopsy found that he suffered severe brain injuries.

The charge says she intentionally caused or permitted her son to be put in a situation where he could be injured or endangered.

Deputy District Attorney Marc Bennett told The Wichita Eagle that the child’s death remains under investigation and no suspects have been eliminated.
