Kansas Army National Guard officer to receive brigadier general star

? A Kansas Army National Guard officer will formally pin on his star as he assumes the rank of brigadier general.

The ceremony for Col. Vic Braden is set for Friday at the Statehouse. Braden is deputy commander of the 35th Infantry Division.

He was one of three Kansas Army National Guard colonels to receive confirmation in October. The others are Col. Lee Tafanelli, assistant adjutant general and commander of the Kansas Army National Guard, and Col. Eric Peck, who becomes director of the Great Plains Joint Training Center in Salina.

On Thursday, Col. Brad Link received his brigadier general star in the Kansas Air National Guard. Link is also an assistant adjutant general and commander of the Kansas Air National Guard. Link was appointed to his post in April.
