Kansas Air National Guard officer to be honored in Chapman

? The Kansas Division of Emergency Management and the city of Chapman are teaming to honor a former emergency management employee and former military member.

Robert Wilhelm died in September of cancer. He was 59 years old.

A memorial stone will be dedicated to Wilhelm on Friday in a Chapman park. It was funded by co-workers and friends.

Wilhelm was a former Air National Guard chief master sergeant with the 190th Air Refueling Wing at Topeka’s Forbes Field.

He was also a state emergency management employee, and helped Chapman recover from a tornado that hit in June 2008.
