2 taken to area hospitals after accident on Kansas Turnpike

At least two people were taken to area hospitals after a two-vehicle accident on the Kansas Turnpike on Saturday afternoon. According to a report from the Kansas Turnpike Authority, the accident occurred about 5:15 p.m. near milepost 203, between the two Lawrence exits. According to the report, both vehicles were headed east when one vehicle changed lanes in front of the other, striking it in the process. The driver of the first vehicle, a 29-year-old Georgia woman, and two passengers, a two-month-old boy and a 52-year-old woman, were injured. The two women were reportedly transported to area hospitals for treatment. Information regarding the patients’ conditions was available saturday evening.
