Two women injured in motorcycle accident remain in hospital

Two women injured in a weekend motorcycle accident near Lawrence Municipal Airport remained at Kansas University Hospital on Thursday, a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kan., hospital said.

Lawrence resident Linda Green, 22, was listed in fair condition, and Lori Farley, 44, of Lecompton, was listed in serious condition.

Green was driving a moped east on U.S. Highway 24-40 Sunday afternoon, when she slowed to turn left and was struck by a passing motorcycle. The accident report said that Green signaled with her hand that she was making a right turn, not a left turn.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Farley, a passenger on the motorcycle, and the driver 53-year-old Lansing resident David Stringer were taken to Kansas City-area hospitals. An update on Stringer’s condition was not available Thursday.
