The status of the Lawrence High baseball team’s regional game scheduled for 2 p.m. today in Manhattan won’t be determined until this morning, according to athletic director Ron Commons.

The school previously announced that the game, against Olathe Northwest, would be postponed to a later date, but Commons said late Tuesday night that a decision on whether to play the game at its originally scheduled time has not yet been made.

The Lions (10-10) are seeded fourth in the regional tournament. Olathe Northwest (9-10) is seeded fifth. The winner of that game will take on the winner of a matchup between top-seeded Manhattan and eighth-seeded Junction City for a berth in the Class 6A state tournament.

Standout pitcher and Wichita State signee Albert Minnis is expected to start in the Lions’ opening game.
