University Bridge Club announces results of its May 8 meeting, with hosts John and Willi Stark.

Blue winners were Lynn Liebert, first; Bonnie Haney, second; Tom Waller, third; Dottie Miller, fourth; and Lois Liebert, fifth.

Pink winners were Alice Akin, first; Karen Zimmerer, second; Janet Dunn, third; Virginia Williams, fourth; and Edna Galle, fifth.

The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of May 5 was attended by 12 tables of players and was directed by Chris Lane. North-South winners were Catherine Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton, first in A and B; Mark Osborn and Gary Joyce, second in A and B; Chris Lane and Charles Hedges, third in A and B; Lester Dalton and Mary Fenlon, fourth in A; Lois Clark and Jan O’Connor, fifth in A; and Wanna Roszel and Bebe Huxtable, first in C.

East-West winners were Klee Zaricky and John Oxley, first in A; Barbara McCorkle and Judy Bevan, second in A, and first in B and C; Shari Krentzel and Mary Mertz, third in A and second in B; Paul Heitzman and David Piro, fourth in A; Bobby Patton and Virginia Seaver, fifth in A; Eldon Herd and Mona Bell, third in B; and Marilyn Martin and Clarice Broz, fourth in B and second in C.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on May 6, directed by Chris Lane, was special and featured 16 students from South Junior High School and the Foreign Language Academy in Kansas City, Mo. The second person in each pair was a student. North-South winners were Yvonne Hedges and Clayton Pfeifer, first; Doris Sindt and Lucy Mulholland, second; Jan O’Connor and Aerialle Jackson tied for third with Virginia Seaver and Tehya Robinson; and Virginia Johnston and Lindsey Griffin, fifth.

East-West winners were Debbie Bettinger and Kyle Wittman, first; Virginia Eddy and Mary Beth Eddy tied for second with Barbara Haverty and Tyeree Brown; Madelyn Jenks and Ashley Hutton, fourth; and Becky Mullins and Carter Francisco, fifth.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of May 7 had 13 tables competing and was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Grant Sutton and Don Bush, first in A and B; Vince Nordberg and Jim Stewart, second in A and B, and first in C; Larry Weatherholt and Steven Vossler, third in A; Kent McCullough and John Fittell, fourth in A; Sally Taylor and Virginia Seaver, fifth in A; and Betty Collier and Shirley Reese, third in B.
