Haskell football coach to serve jail time for third DUI; other charges dropped in plea deal

The head coach of the Haskell Indian Nations University football team has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in Johnson County and has been sentenced to jail time for driving under the influence of alcohol for a third time.

Eric Brock, 36, entered a guilty plea Tuesday to one count of a third offense of driving under the influence. In exchange, prosecutors dropped three other charges Brock was facing: having no insurance, refusing to submit to a Breathalyzer test and speeding.

A judge ordered Brock to spend 10 days in jail, followed by 80 days under house arrest. Brock must report to the Johnson County Jail by noon Saturday.

The charges stem from an incident on Feb. 14, 2009, in Johnson County. Brock was then booked into the Johnson County Jail in August 2009, accused of violating conditions of his bond.

Brock, who played football for Haskell in the early 1990s, took over as head coach in 2002.
