Boy Scouts to landscape eight-block stretch of new eastside trail on Saturday

East Lawrence residents should expect to see a mass of Boy Scouts on Saturday.

Nearly 200 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from across the area are scheduled to participate in a large landscaping project to add trees, shrubs and flowers to the portions of the new Burroughs Creek Trail from 11th to 19th streets. The concrete trail is west of Haskell Avenue.

The Scouts will gather at 8:45 a.m. Saturday near Parnell Park, which is just west of 15th Street and Haskell Avenue.

The planting project was chosen by the Pelathe District of Boy Scouts as part of its 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts in America.
