KU athletics director to speak about leadership at Dole Institute

Kansas University Athletics Director Lew Perkins is scheduled to appear at the Dole Institute of Politics in April.

He will give an interview relating to his decades-long career in sports administration at 7:30 p.m. April 13 at the Dole Institute.

He is the third person to speak in the institute’s Leadership and Globalization in Sports series, which examines the economic, social and political impact of sports throughout the world. Former National Football League commissioner Paul Tagliabue spoke in November 2008, and international mountain guide Robert Link in November 2009.

Perkins has served as KU’s athletics director since June 2003, when he came to the school from the University of Connecticut.

The event is free and open to the public.
