Collins, Aldrich earn AP All-America status

Collins named to second team; Aldrich third-team selection

Kansas senior guard Sherron Collins and junior center Cole Aldrich both earned Associated Press All-American status Monday.

Collins was named to the AP All-America second team, while Aldrich was a third-team selection.

Kentucky put a pair of players on the first team, as freshman guard John Wall and freshman forward DeMarcus Cousins both made the list. Ohio State’s Evan Turner, Syracuse’s Wesley Johnson and Villanova’s Scottie Reynolds also were first-team selections.

Collins was joined on the second team by Oklahoma State’s James Anderson, Maryland’s Greivis Vasquez, Duke’s Jon Scheyer and West Virginia’s Da’Sean Butler.

Earning third-team honors with Aldrich were Georgetown’s Greg Monroe, Texas’ Damion James, Notre Dame’s Luke Harangody and New Mexico’s Darington Hobson.
