Baldwin City’s Community Wellness Festival offers a healthy dose of fun and information.

There’s a 5K race, free screenings, prizes and 70 exhibitors. The event typically draws 300 people.

The event will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Collins Center on Baker University’s campus.

Among the activities:

• Free screenings include blood pressure, posture check, body fat, bone density, hearing, lung volume vision and dental.

• Lawrence Memorial Hospital will provide more in-depth screenings, including a total lipid profile and a screening for prostate cancer. Anyone interested in the lab tests should not eat or drink anything — water and medications are exceptions — after midnight prior to having blood drawn. The lab tests will be $40 unless you get the prostrate cancer screening, which is $50. Forms for the lab tests are available at Baldwin City Recreation Office, Baldwin Athletic Club, Santa Fe Market, Baldwin City Market and Baker University Student Health Center.

• There will be drawings for prizes, including bicycles for an adult and two children. Free T-shirts will be provided to the first 150 attendees. All children will receive a free bicycle helmet as long as supplies last.
