Mother charged in death of baby girl
Hutchinson ? A young Hutchinson mother has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of her 3-month-old daughter.
Brigit L. Hippen, 18, was arrested Friday. She is accused of unintentionally killing her daughter, Karina Perez, in a reckless manner.
Reno County District Attorney Keith Schroeder said in a brief news release that the child died from hypothermia and thermal injuries that investigators believe were caused by a handheld blow dryer.
The girl was rushed to a Hutchinson hospital last month, where she was pronounced dead.
Hippen’s bond has been set at $25,000 dollars.
