The city of Lawrence is hosting its Spring Compost Sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 18 and 19, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 20, at the Wood Recovery and Composting facility, 1420 E. 11th St.

Participants can load their own material or have it loaded into pickups and small trailers by the city. It costs $10 to have material loaded, but it’s free for people who load it themselves. Compost is intended for residential — not commercial — use.
