FSHS in finals of Quest competition

Free State High School has advanced to the finals of the academic Quest competition, a contest between high school teams testing knowledge on topics such as art, literature, history, math and science.

Free State is one of 16 Kansas high schools making it to the finals following the Dec. 5 Quest competition at Washburn University. The school now advances to a single-elimination competition against McPherson High School.

The contest against McPherson is pretaped and results are not announced until the match is aired on public broadcasting stations KTWU and KPTS. The contest will be aired (Sunflower Broadband channel in parentheses):

• KTWU 11 (11): 11 a.m. Sunday.

• KTWU Enhance (24): 2 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. March 13.

• KTWU HD (203): 4:30 p.m. March 12.

Free State High team members are Anton Bovin, Cypress Frankenfeld, Lea Greenberg, Dravid Joseph, Alek Joyce and Calvert Pfannenstiel. The coach is Oather Strawderman.
