Topeka ? Construction combined with a multi-car accident near I-70 and I-470 in Topeka caused major traffic congestion Tuesday morning, according to KTKA.

The Kansas Department of Transportation said a machine that pours concrete broke down and delayed the reopening of the ramp at eastbound I-70 and Fairlawn, but the exit will reopen today.

An accident on westbound I-470 closed the highway at Huntoon Road. Traffic is being directed onto Wanamaker. KDOT encouraged drivers to avoid the area on their Twitter account.
