Secretary of State Chris Biggs took a political swipe at his Democratic Party primary opponent state Sen. Chris Steineger.
In a campaign postcard, Biggs pokes fun at Steineger who got a black eye from an altercation last year.
The front of the postcard reads “Historic Battles of Kansas,” and cites, the sacking of Lawrence, the Battle of Black Jack, Massacre at Marais des Cygnes and “The punching of Steineger.”
On the flip side, the campaign mailing criticizes Steineger and says “No more black eyes. Vote Chris Biggs on August 3.”
Allison Green, a spokeswoman for Steineger, said the postcard shows Biggs is worried about losing the primary.
“When campaigns go negative like this so late in the campaign, it’s a sign of desperation,” Green said.
According to media reports, Steineger, a state senator from Kansas City, got into an argument last August over health care reform at Breit’s Stein and Deli when someone took a swing at him. He said he was “sucker-punched.”

Biggs is spending a lot of money to puff his chest. I want to hear how he is fighting ID theft, Internet crime and corporate shenanigans. Biggs sounds emotional.

He's running for Secretary of State. Most of what you mention would come under the purview of the Attorney General.

---those democrat campaigners, aren't they just *so* cute! silly boys.
and, Steineger got a black eye over the obama health insurance debacle? was he for it or agin' it?

Knowing Steineger, it depended on who he was talking to.

Usually the incumbent/favorite does not have to go negative, and this was just stupid.

Biggs is not truly an "incumbent", but a short-timer appointee.

Steineger is the best man in this race. Biggs abused his previous position and should never have been given another one. Steineger is progressive and oriented towards the common person.

How did Biggs abuse his previous position?
Also, Steiniger is known for voting more often with Republicans than Democrats. How does that make him either progressive, or oriented towards the common person?
