Moore raises over $350,000 in first three months of Third District campaign

? Kansas congressman Dennis Moore’s wife raised $352,000 in the first three months of her campaign to succeed him in the 3rd Congressional District.

Stephene Moore, of Lenexa, raised more money from April through June than any other Democratic or Republican candidate.

But the leading GOP candidate, state Rep. Kevin Yoder, of Overland Park, had a big head start in fundraising.

He reported raising $293,000 from April through June. But his total for the entire campaign is nearly $804,000.

Stephene Moore faces an opponent in her Aug. 3 primary, Thomas Scherer, of Prairie Village. but she is expected to win easily.

Yoder is one of nine GOP candidates.
