New general coming to Fort Leavenworth

? A change of responsibility ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday for a new member of the leadership team at the Army’s Fort Leavenworth.

Brig. Gen. Sean MacFarland is taking over as deputy commandant of the Command and General Staff College. He replaces Maj. Gen. Edward Cardon, who assuming duties as the deputy commanding general for support of U.S. forces in Iraq.

MacFarland has recently been commander of the Joint Task Force North, U.S. Northern Command. His new role also includes serving as deputy commanding general for U.S. Army Combined Arms Center’s leadership development and education.
