As America approaches its 234th birthday, Hallmark marks the silver anniversary of another institution on “Dolly Celebrates 25 Years of Dollywood” (7 p.m., Saturday, Hallmark). A 45-time Grammy nominee and larger-than-life country star, Dolly Parton founded the theme amusement park to create jobs and establish a tourist destination in her native state of Tennessee.

Parton will welcome several fellow stars to Pigeon Forge, including Billy Ray Cyrus and his more famous daughter and “Hannah Montana” star, Miley Cyrus. And no Dollywood celebration would be complete without Kenny Rogers. The special includes tributes from Faith Hill, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney and others.

“Lockup: Extended Stay: Maricopa County Jail” (9 p.m., Saturday, MSNBC) visits the Arizona facility at the white-hot center of the debate over illegal immigration. The county’s sheriff, Joe Arpaio, known for his penchant for arresting alleged illegals, was called “America’s Worst Sheriff” by The New York Times. He has made headlines for instituting chain gangs and humiliating inmates by making them wear pink underwear. “Extended Stay” will air over six Saturday nights, concluding Aug. 7.

• Viewers have three opportunities to catch the fireworks and music. Jimmy Smits hosts “A Capitol Fourth 2010” (7 p.m. and 9 p.m., Sunday, PBS, check local listings). Look for performances by Gladys Knight, Reba McEntire, Darius Rucker, David Archuleta, John Schneider and the National Symphony Orchestra.

Craig Ferguson (“The Late Late Show”) hosts “The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular” (9 p.m., CBS), featuring a performance by country star Toby Keith and the acclaimed Boston Pops Orchestra.

Over on NBC, Manhattan will host the rocket’s red glare as Nick Cannon (“America’s Got Talent”) presides over the 34th installment of “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular” (8 p.m., NBC), featuring a performance by Justin Bieber.

• Independence Day marathons include a day of “Star Wars” films on Spike, from “Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace” (8 a.m., Sunday) through “Episode VI: Return of the Jedi” (11 p.m., late Sunday). Episodes of “Deadliest Catch” run on Discovery on Saturday and Sunday from 8 p.m. through 2 a.m.

Syfy has broken with tradition to replace the “Twilight Zone” marathon with 20 hours (8 a.m., Sunday through 4 a.m., Monday) of “The Greatest American Hero,” the fantasy that ran on ABC from 1981-1983, starring William Katt as a school teacher endowed with superpowers by a suit given to him by space aliens.
