Veritas splits; Seabury falls

? Elijah Penny scored 19 points and Ethan Kay added 15 as Veritas Christian beat the Manhattan Chiefs, 45-39 in overtime, in high school boys basketball on Friday night.

Veritas (4-5) scored the first four points in overtime.

“That put pressure on them,” Veritas coach Gary Hammer said. “We went to our delay game, and they couldn’t get the ball from us. They had to foul us, and we made our free throws.”

Veritas will play host to Olathe Berean on Tuesday.
