Haskell men’s rally falls short

Haskell Indian Nations University’s second-half rally came up short, and the Indians fell to Bellevue, 71-65, in men’s basketball Friday night at Coffin Complex.

HINU trailed 31-18 after a sluggish first half. The Indians narrowed the gap in the second half as Dominick Clichee and Marcellous Hill each reached double figures. Clichee led the way with 20, while Hill had 17 points and 10 rebounds. D.J. Fish added eight points and 12 rebounds for HINU.

“They picked up the intensity in the second half,” Indians assisant coach Chad Kills Crows said. “We went to the wire with a good Bellevue team. We’re growing game by game.”

HINU fell to 2-17 and will play Jan. 22 at College of the Ozarks.
