Free State’s Lisher invited to Shrine Bowl

Free State High senior Michael Lisher has been selected to the Kansas Shrine Bowl’s East squad as the lone representative of Lawrence to land on the all-star game’s roster.

Lisher, a three-year starter on the offensive line, was selected to the team as a center.

He becomes the third member of his own family to be selected to participate in the Shrine Bowl. His brother, Brett, and father, Bob, both were a part of the 2006 game, when Brett was selected as a wide receiver and Bob was the East squad’s head coach.

“Michael playing in it this year kind of completes the circle for us,” Bob Lisher said.

This year’s Shrine Bowl will take place on July 31 at Pittsburg State University.
