KU announces schedule of expected visits by candidates for open dean position

Provost candidates also expected to visit campus in February

Kansas University leaders announced the schedule for campus visits and interviews of candidates for the positions of dean of liberal arts and sciences and dean of music.

Four candidates are scheduled to visit KU in January and February as candidates to lead the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, KU’s largest academic division, and three candidates will visit as candidates to lead KU’s new School of Music. Names of the candidates will be announced on KU’s Web site 48 hours before the candidates are to visit campus.

KU also expects candidates for the vacant provost position to visit campus in February, but no dates have yet been announced, the university said.

Here’s the schedule of visits:

Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

— First candidate, Jan. 24-26

— Second candidate, Jan. 31-Feb. 2

— Third candidate, Feb. 3-5

— Fourth candidate, Feb. 10-12

Dean of the School of Music

— First candidate, Feb. 9-12

— Second candidate, Feb. 17-20

— Third candidate, Feb. 28-March 3
