Eudora St. Mary’s got hot from long range and handed Veritas Christian a 65-54 high school boys basketball setback Saturday night.
St. Mary’s went 10-of-19 from three-point range and erased a two-point deficit entering the fourth quarter.
“We played well enough to win,” Veritas coach Gary Hammer said. “They just took over with their three-point shooting. They were so hot in the fourth quarter, we just couldn’t stay with them.”
Ethan Kay and Elijah Penny led Veritas with 17 points apiece, and Thomas Bachert added 10 points.
Veritas (2-5) will play Tuesday at Topeka Cair Paravel.
