Sophomore catcher Chris Manship went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while Brian Heere and Jason Brunansky collected three hits apiece as the 25th-ranked Kansas University baseball team collected a season-high 18 hits in a 10-4 victory over Sacramento State Saturday at the Peoria Showdown.

KU defeated Gonzaga, 9-5, in its first game on Saturday.

The Jayhawks are 4-1 on the season.

Against Sacramento State, Kansas scored four runs in the top of the first innings as the first five hitters of the game all reached base. All nine starting position players reached base, while 10 Jayhawks collected base hits.

The run support helped Cameron Selik to his second victory of the season. The senior righty went 71/3 innings and allowed just one run on six hits with four walks and five strikeouts. Selik took a no-hitter into the fourth inning, before a two-out bloop single to left by Jake Chilton.

In the first game, senior first baseman Brett Lisher went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs, while James Stanfield also collected two hits.

Kansas trailed early, but scored five times in the fourth inning to take control of the game.

Kansas will wrap up the Peoria Showdown with another game against Gonzaga at 11 a.m. today.
