Bragging rights will be on the line Wednesday night as K-State meets Kansas University once again on the hardwood floor.

Before the game, though, there will be a friendlier, healthier competition taking place among fans.

It’s a blood drive at the Community Blood Center in Topeka.

Fans are encouraged to sport their favorite team’s colors and give blood between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the center, 800 Southwest Lane. It is near Stormont-Vail Healthcare.

All registered donors will receive a complementary collegiate gift.

Donors are encouraged to book an appointment online or by calling 785-233-0195. Walk-ins are also welcome.

To donate blood, individuals must be at least age 16, weigh a minimum of 115 pounds, and be in good health.

The center will announce which team’s fans donate the most blood. Of course, the real winners will be the patients who benefit from donations.

The Community Blood Center supplies blood to 73 hospitals in Missouri and Kansas, including Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

The teams meet Wednesday night. It will be no country for old men and there will be blood.
