Kansas University’s second candidate for its provost position is Steve Warren, KU’s vice provost for research and graduate studies.

Warren received all three of his degrees from KU, ending with a doctorate in child and developmental psychology in 1977.

Warren was named to his current position in January 2008, after serving for five months as interim vice provost and six years as director of KU’s Schiefelbusch Institute for Life Span Studies.

A short presentation to students, faculty, staff and the public is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday at the Bruckmiller and McGee rooms in the Adams Alumni Center. A question-and-answer session and reception will follow.

Warren joins Philip McConnaughay, dean of Pennsylvania State University’s law school, as finalists for the post. A third candidate will be announced later.
