A 27-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Friday evening after allegedly striking another man in the head with a liquor bottle.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Mark Warren, the suspect had confronted a resident in the 100 block of Indian Avenue about 7 p.m. in regard to a situation involving a mutual girlfriend.

The suspect, who did not live at the residence, struck the man who did.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and the victim was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle to be treated for injuries suffered during the incident.
