Eudora ? After 23 years of service, Eudora Police Chief Greg Dahlem is retiring.

Dahlem, 50, will officially leave the post April 1.

“He was instrumental in moving the department forward and we thank him for his years of service,” Eudora City Administrator John Harrenstein said.

Harrenstein will speak with Eudora City Council members about the process of filling the position and hoped to be close to a decision April 1.

The city also is in the process of hiring a fire chief after the departure of Randy Ates in January.
