Mother of 2 dies of H1N1 complications

? A mother of two hospitalized for more than three months because of complications from H1N1 has died.

Carolina Enegren was 31 when she died Wednesday.

She was featured earlier this month in a story in The Wichita Eagle. The story also ran on The Associated Press wire.

Enegren was the first member of her family to become ill from the H1N1 virus back in mid-October. Her husband, Paul, and their two sons, ages 4 and 2, also got sick.

While her family recovered, Carolina got sicker.

Her cough progressed into acute respiratory distress syndrome, a lung condition that prevents enough oxygen from getting to the blood. She had been hospitalized since Oct. 24.

Her husband said she died of complications from the virus and damage to her lungs.
