James C. Moeser announced he was resigning as dean of the Kansas University School of Fine Arts but, at the request of KU administrators, would continue as dean until July 1 of 1986. A noted organist, the 45-year-old Moeser planned to return to full-time teaching at KU, where he held the Althaus Distinguished Profesorship in Organ.

A Las Vegas firm that was a key link in a culture-growing operation being investigated by the Kansas attorney general was ordered to halt operations. The Vegas firm, Activator supply Co. Inc., was a sister company to Culture Farms of Lawrence, which said it would purchase bacterial cutlures from investor-growers for eventual use in manufacture of cosmetics. Local Culture Farms officials did not return phone calls from the Journal-World.
