Finding the rightful owner: Winifred Lynch

Winifred Lynch looks at the lineage documented in her family Bible. It belonged to her mother's adoptive family. Lynch hopes that she can find long-lost family members to take the Bible because she believes it should be in the possession of someone with blood ties to the people who originated the book.

At 89, Lynch is hopeful that she can see her well-worn family Bible make it back into the bloodline in which it belongs. Lynch feels uneasy just having it in her possession: Her mother was adopted into the family that began the Bible in the mid-1800s. It was later passed to Lynch, and she is hoping that in the age of the Internet she and her daughter, Alice Norris, might be able to find someone who can lay claim to the Bible, which includes the family names Love, Porter and Flowers.
