The American Red Cross Blood Services – Central Plains Region will recognize Jane Blocher, Douglas County American Red Cross Chapter, and Connie Edwards, blood drive coordinator, as Chapter Volunteers of the Year.

Their awards were presented by CEO Terri Dunaway Tuesday at the Douglas County 94th annual Volunteer Recognition at the Dole Institute of Politics, 2350 Petefish Drive.

Blocher and Edwards were nominated because of their “amazing passion for helping others.” Through their efforts, the number of units collected at Lawrence drives has steadily increased.
