Statehouse Live: High-ranking state officials stepping down

? Four high-ranking state officials have stepped down from their posts, it was announced Friday.

Duane Goossen, secretary of the Department of Administration and budget director; Don Jordan, secretary of the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services; Roger Werholtz, secretary of the Department of Corrections; and Col. Terry Maple, superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, ended their service under Gov. Mark Parkinson, who is leaving office.

“Duane, Don, Terry and Roger have served multiple governors and performed their duties admirably,” said Parkinson. “They are all extraordinary individuals with a wealth of knowledge in their respective subject matters. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”

Gov.-elect Sam Brownback is set to take office Jan. 10 and is currently filling his Cabinet.
