Topeka police shoot person accused of stealing car
Topeka ? Topeka police have shot and wounded a person accused of pointing a weapon at an officer.
Police said in a statement Monday that the shooting happened Sunday night as police were trying to stop a car that had been taken during a home invasion. During the pursuit, one suspect fled the vehicle on foot. The suspect pointed a firearm at the officer after a short pursuit and was shot.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that neither the identity of the wounded person nor his condition was immediately released.
The shooting and home invasion are under investigation.
