Donations are being sought for a Christmas dinner that will be open for the Lawrence community.

Deb Engstrom, a volunteer who is helping organize the event, said the group is looking for turkeys, hams and pies.

Anyone who wants to donate a 20-pound turkey or a 5-pound ham should call Engstrom at 330-3105 to make arrangements for a drop-off. People interested in dropping off pies may either call Engstrom to arrange a pickup, or may take them to the First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt., on Christmas Day.

Volunteers interested in helping deliver meals may show up at the church at 11 a.m. on Christmas to assist.

Meals will be served at First United Methodist Church between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Christmas Day.
