Former Kline aide to be admonished

? A former Kansas deputy attorney general will receive an informal admonition for failing to correct information given to the state Supreme Court during investigations of abortion providers.

Eric Rucker was chief deputy to Phill Kline when Kline served as state attorney general and later as Johnson County district attorney.

The state’s disciplinary administrator for lawyers had accused Rucker and Kline of violating professional ethics during the investigations. Rucker denied intentionally misleading the Supreme Court but acknowledged making some mistakes during the investigations.

On Tuesday, a disciplinary panel ordered that Rucker be admonished for allowing misleading information to be submitted to the court.

Rucker could have faced tougher sanctions. His attorney says Rucker is vindicated by the board’s action.

A disciplinary hearing for Kline is set for November.
