To the editor:
Lawrence and Douglas County residents are fortunate to have city and county workers who do their jobs faithfully, day in and day out without fanfare, especially in the really hot and really cold days of the year. It easy to forget those who provide needed services of water, refuse collection, wastewater treatment, emergency and regular health care, and those who maintain our roads and bridges and beautify our public areas. Also, there are the private sector workers who provide gas, electric and communication services under similar conditions, 24/7, 365 days a year. Good job ladies and gentlemen!
