A 64-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated sexual battery. According to Lawrence Police Capt. Ray Urbanek, the incident occurred in the 200 block of Alabama Street about 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Urbanek said the man had reportedly touched a woman at the location inappropriately. The woman then called the police. When officers arrived on scene, they took the man into custody without incident.

He was booked into the Douglas County Jail about 2:23 p.m. Sunday on charges of aggravated sexual battery and criminal restraint.
