KU’s department of city management and urban policy and the department of special education both ranked tops among public schools. The city management and urban policy program was tops overall, while special education ranked second overall to Vanderbilt University.

The university had 35 programs finish in the top 40 rankings among public schools.

The magazine unveiled a limited number of rankings this week, with its complete university rankings scheduled to be released later this year.
