Style scout: Jonah Neff
Jonah Neff
Age: 29.
Sign: Libra.
Hometown: Topeka.
Time in Lawrence: Three years.
Occupation: KU student; fork-lift driver.
What were you doing when scouted? Sitting on my porch with my pup, Pickles, waitin’ on a storm to brew.
How would you describe your style? Pretty comfortable — I’m a jeans and T-shirt kind of guy. I wear a lot of band T-shirts and pearl snaps.
Favorite fashion trends: I like Adidas Originals and slip-on Vans. I’m a fan of ’80s-style running shoes with a slightly retro aesthetic.
Least favorite fashion trends: I don’t care for UGG boots or socks with sandals in the summer time. And I suppose short khaki shorts and prepped-up apparel will never been my thing.
What would you like to see less of in Lawrence? I applaud Lawrence for its comfortable, easygoing atmosphere; to maintain this relaxed climate, I vote for fewer brand-name T-shirts with labels written across the fronts. Instead, wear a shirt providing visible support for your passion or cause of interest.
What would you like to see more of in Lawrence? In place of broad-brimmed hats, I’d like to see more cowboy hats.
Who are your fashion influences? Well, I purchase a lot of band T-shirts. I like the idea of wearable art — support and promotion all wrapped into one useable item.
People say I look like: Conan O’Brien, which I don’t see. And my brother, Noah.
Tell us a secret: I have 40-plus pairs of shoes. … I have more shoes than most girls!
