Foundation Follies to raise funds for district

More than 150 Lawrence teachers, administrators and other school district employees plan to perform on stage Friday evening at Liberty Hall, 644 Mass., to raise funds as part of the 20th anniversary of the Foundation Follies.

Susan Esau, executive director for the Lawrence Schools Foundation, said organizers are hoping to get more calls for reservations on Thursday and Friday before the event to help match the $30,000 raised last year.

Members of the public must pay $35 for reservations to attend. Anyone interested in attending can bring a check to the foundation office, 110 McDonald Drive, or donate online at lawrenceschoolsfoundation.org.

Proceeds from the event support the foundation’s efforts, but each year a portion goes to funding teacher innovation and funds for excellence grants to be used in schools and classrooms, Esau said.
