Prairie Village ? The Free State High softball team dropped a pair of games against Shawnee Mission East, 6-2 and 3-1, on Wednesday.

The Firebirds (2-4) pitched well; they walked only one batter in two games. However, Free State committed nine errors.

“We couldn’t get timely hits and we didn’t play well defensively,” FSHS coach Lee Ice said. “You’re not going to win in this league if you don’t do that.”

Free State will travel to SM North on Tuesday.
