Iraqi trade group visits Topeka

? A delegation of Iraqi business officials has paid a visit to Topeka to discuss potential trade opportunities with Kansas.

The Iraqi group is in the U.S. at the invitation of the State Department and spending several days in the Kansas City area.

On Thursday, the group met with Kansas Commerce Secretary Bill Thornton and state Sen. Tom Holland, a Baldwin City Democrat.

Kansas has historically exported aircraft and wheat to Iraq, but commerce officials said there may be other trade opportunities.
